When your home is damaged by fire, water, wind, or hail, you count on your insurance company to make things right. But what happens when you don’t agree with the amount they’re offering to pay?
That’s where the insurance appraisal process comes in.
DISCLOSURE: We are not public adjusters or attorneys. We cannot interpret policy or give legal advice.
If there's a disagreement between you and your insurance company about the value of the damages — not coverage or policy issues — most policies include an Appraisal Clause. This allows the insurance company or policyholder to demand appraisal.
My name is Stephen Follis, founder of Revelations Loss Solutions. I’ve worked in construction and insurance restoration for over 30 years, and I understand what it truly costs to repair a home after disaster strikes.
As an independent insurance appraiser, I represent you — the policyholder — in the appraisal process. My job is to:
✔️ Inspect and document the damage thoroughly
✔️ Create a fair, accurate estimate of the loss using industry-standard tools like Xactimate
✔️ Work alongside the insurance company’s appraiser to reach an agreement on the value of the claim
If both appraisers can’t agree, a neutral third party called an umpire is brought in to help settle the differences between their position estimates.
I am not an attorney and not a public adjuster. I do not interpret your policy, determine coverage, or advise you on legal matters. My role is strictly to provide a neutral, professional opinion on the value of the damages to your property.
If you’re feeling stuck, unheard, or unsure whether your settlement is fair, I’m here to help.
Contact Revelations Loss Solutions today to learn more about your appraisal rights — and take the next step toward getting what your claim is truly worth.
